Our goal is to provide products that are plant-derived, not tested on animals, and free of gluten, wheat, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, polyethylene glycol, synthetic fragrances, preservatives, and palm oil. Our Founder
Perfect Stride was established by imani pope-johns, a seasoned cosmetologist with 15 years of experience. Their journey began after cross-training in running, swimming, yoga, and pilates to finish their first half-marathon. Facing numerous challenges, from the damaging effects of chlorine and sea salt on their hair and eczema-prone skin, to sweat irritating their eyes and experiencing a 1st-degree burn due to chafing during the race. As a track and swim athlete, they developed products to ensure greater strides for their next long-distance run.
In the recovery period following the half-marathon, she noticed a lack of adequate products on the market for athletes of color who face issues like hyperpigmentation, dry and fragile skin and hair, scarring, and more. This led to the creation of Perfect Stride, a performance-driven and functional sports and wellness personal care brand. Designed specifically for melanated individuals with and active lifestyle.
